A unique double reed ensemble, the Tacamis Trio is comprised of oboist Caitlin Broms-Jacobs, English hornist Tracy Wright, and bassoonist Allen Harrington. Forming the double reed section of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Caitlin, Tracy, and Allen have performed and toured together in hundreds of concerts with the MCO, as well as the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, for more than a decade.

The Tacamis Trio has been featured several times on the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra’s main concert series, and their performances of Bach’s Goldberg Variations have been critically acclaimed. “Each of these players is a fine soloist in their own right, performing now as a tightly knit, cohesive ensemble in which listeners were able to discern individual contrapuntal lines woven throughout the Baroque tapestry of sound.” - Winnipeg Free Press

The trio’s unity of sound and musical style are the result of developing side by side over many years, their artistic concepts influenced by each other as well as the same external forces.  A beautiful and satisfying combination of instruments, Tacamis’ three distinctive voices have a similarity of tone colour that allows for seamless blending. The trio’s sincere and vibrant approach to music making is showcased in their repertoire which ranges from the ancient ricercars of the Renaissance to the music of our time.

Watch for Tacamis’ upcoming release of J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations, on Leaf Music!
